Environmental improvement project by converting the electrostatic precipitator into a filter bag house.

As Asia Cement Public Company Limited has launched an environmental improvement project by converting the electrostatic precipitator into a filter bag house for reducing the dust emission of the chimney from less than 60 mg / m3 to less than 10 mg / m3. This project has a duration for 3 years (2016- 2018) and consists of 2 phases as follows.
          The 1st phase between 2016 - 2017, the electrostatic precipitators’ conversion to filter bag houses for 2 units at the second production line of coal mills with a budget of 80 million baht.
          The 2nd phase between 2017 - 2018, the electrostatic precipitators’ conversion to filter bag houses for 2 units at the second production line of raw mills with a budget of 280 million baht.In 2017, Asia Cement Public Company Limited achieved the 1st phase project on July 24, 2017 to convert the electrostatic precipitators to filter bag houses for 2 units at the coal mills, production line 2. The dust emission of the two chimneys shows lower concentration about 5 mg / m3 (less than 10 mg / m3 as target) than before at all time of machine operation even though start and stop period. Whereas the electrostatic precipitator provides high dust emission during start/stop period and other malfunction cases which will take time to optimize its efficiency.        

          The company has organized the opening ceremony of the new dust bag houses on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Asia cement company, Pukrang plant, located at Saraburi province. Moreover, Mr. Niran Yingmahisaranon, Chief of Saraburi Industrial Bureau , participated this event as an honorable chairman including with Administrators and members of Pukrang Municipality Council, village headman and community leader from Pukrang and Kaowong sub-district, totally more than 80 guests. In order to know the progress and development plan on the environment improvement, according to the Company's policy of participation and sustainable development.       
The 2nd phase for the electrostatic precipitator conversion at the 2nd production line of the raw mills will be installed before the end of 2018 as planned schedule. The auction was completed in the end of 2017, the project is currently in the engineering design phase.
